Job summary

Terma is seeking a Software Safety Engineer to design and govern safety-critical software for defense/aerospace systems in Denmark. You will lead safety software assurance activities, develop safety cases, and ensure compliance with global safety standards.

The role spans across safety analyses, V&V coordination, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to embed safety into development from the start. Hybrid work options apply, with strong focus on leadership in safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5–8 years in system safety engineering for software-intensive systems (experienced role).
• Leadership in safety-critical projects for senior role.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety software assurance activities and create Software Safety Plans and Safety Cases.
• Perform Software Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis and FMEA.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61508, MIL-STD-882E, DO-178C and similar standards.
• Support independent safety assessments and audits.
• Coordinate with V&V teams to ensure traceability from safety requirements to design and tests.
• Collaborate with developers, systems engineers, and hardware teams to embed safety.
