Job summary

Terma Group is seeking a Software Safety Engineer to join our Product Safety team. You will shape safety strategies, drive software safety activities and influence design decisions across safety-critical systems in defense and aerospace.

You should bring 5–8 years in software safety and a strong understanding of embedded systems, real-time software and safety standards. This role offers hybrid work in Denmark and collaboration with global experts.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in software safety engineering for software-intensive systems.
• Experience leading safety-critical projects and strategic initiatives.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and real-time software.
• Familiarity with IEC 61508, MIL-STD-882E, DO-178C and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety software assurance activities: Software Safety Plans, Verification & Validation Plans, Safety Cases.
• Perform Software Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and FMEA to ensure safety integrity levels.
• Ensure compliance with international standards like IEC 61508, MIL-STD-882E, DO-178C.
• Support independent safety assessments and audits of your work.
• Collaborate with V&V teams to validate test strategies from a system safety perspective.
• Embed safety into design by working with developers, systems engineers and HW teams.
