Job summary

Uber in Aarhus, Denmark seeks an experienced software engineer to own infrastructure for global stateful systems. You will design, build, and maintain automation that deploys database engines across on-prem and cloud environments, while leading technical direction and mentoring peers in a high-scale, high-ambiguity setting.

You will work with Go services, focus on reliability, and collaborate with teams in SF, Amsterdam, Seattle, and Bangalore to ship pragmatic solutions fast.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Java, Python).
• Experience with testing methodologies and quality documentation.
• Technical depth in building or managing distributed systems at scale.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical direction and navigate ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks for deploying and running database engines globally.
• Solve high-impact infrastructure problems, e.g., kernel upgrades or storage expansions across millions of containers.
• Build and own services in Go focused on reliability and resource forecasting.
• Ensure code changes are backed by rigorous testing and rapid delivery.
• Improve fleet-wide efficiency by automating scheduling and on-call operations.
• Mentor peers and collaborate across global sites to ship practical solutions quickly.
• Engage with local tech communities to share knowledge and drive engineering excellence.
