Job summary

Visiana is seeking a senior software engineer to modernize BoneXpert, our flagship medical software. You will replace legacy components, strengthen architecture, and document decisions to support compliance and future development.

You will collaborate with four developers, a product owner, application specialists, and QA to expand integration capabilities and improve the user experience for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Education in Software Engineering or similar.
• Experience with NET technologies such as C#, WPF, Windows Forms.
• Experience with Unit Testing and automated deployments; ideally Azure DevOps / TFS.
• Experience with IEC 62304.
• Experience with medical devices and protocols (DICOM, HL7, XML).
• Experience with Web services, webhooks and REST APIs.
• Willingness to document work in QMS.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with colleagues.
• Excellent English skills.
• Strong analytical and technical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of Visiana's software.
• Modernization of software by replacing legacy components and improving architecture.
• Code reviewing to ensure quality and maintainability.
• Expanding BoneXpert's integration capabilities with HIS/HL7 interfaces.
• Creating web services for data synchronization between internal tools and external systems.
• Managing external communication related to maintenance, updates and upgrades of Visiana's secondary license server.

Job description

Create a positive difference to the health of children worldwide, and become part of an experienced team developing software which ensures precise and standardised readings within radiology.

At Visiana, we have have developed the software BoneXpert, which through artificial intelligence automatically interprets a digital X-ray of a child's hand. BoneXpert determines how old the child is according to its biological clock, and this is used e.g. in relation to growth hormone treatment, and to predict how tall the child will become as an adult. This interpretation was traditionally performed by a radiologist, but our software can replace the radiologist's work.

We are a dedicated and passionate team, and are looking for a colleague to strengthen and expand the functionality of our internal and external software for improved user experience and customer support.

The role

We are looking for a senior software engineer to further enhance and modernize our flagship medical software solution. The role involves replacing legacy components with updated technologies, improving architectural documentation, and contributing to the redesign of key software modules. This position requires a proactive approach and confidence in working on complex systems independently.

The team

All departments work closely together at Visiana. You will however work mostly with four full time developers, a product owner, application specialists, and at least one quality assurance person. There are occasionally also external consultants to help with very specific tasks.

What we expect (not necessarily all qualifications)

• Education in Software Engineering or similar.


• Experience with NET technologies (C#, WPF, Windows Forms).


• Experience with Unit Testing and automated deployments - ideally with Azure DevOps / TFS.


• Experience working with international standards such as IEC 62304.


• Experience with medical devices and protocols (DICOM, HL7, XML).


• Experience with Web services, webhooks and REST APIs.


• Interest and willingness to work systematic and document work in our QMS.


• You can work independently and also engage in a constructive interaction with your new colleagues.


• You have excellent English skills.
