Job description

Banking hasn't changed much in decades. We're changing that. One product at a time.

Lunar is a Nordic challenger bank building the future of financial life with AI at the core. Our engineers, designers, and product people work on problems that actually matter. Making money simpler, smarter, and more rewarding for millions of people across the Nordics.

Fully licensed and founded in 2015, with offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Stockholm.

We move fast, we build with purpose, and we're just getting started.

As our new Senior Regulatory Data & Reporting Specialist you'll join the Capital & Regulatory Reporting team based in Copenhagen, reporting to Meinhard — bringing your regulatory reporting expertise into a role where you'll translate regulatory frameworks into the system logic, calculation rules, and requirements that our reporting runs on — driving quality review and gap analysis across our reporting perimeter, and helping position CRR as the internal SME that Lunar's product and tech teams build with.

The CRR team carries a wide mandate: financial regulatory reporting, capital and liquidity governance, and Treasury controls. In practice, that means safeguarding the bank's financial integrity, ensuring regulatory submissions meet the standard that regulators, investors, and our customers can rely on.

We're expanding the team — you'll be one of two specialists sharing ownership of financial regulatory reporting. We don't operate in silos — capital and liquidity governance and Treasury controls sit within the same team, and you'll gain exposure to all areas, whilst focusing on regulatory reporting. Cross-coverage is built into how we operate, regardless of who is in the office.

What will you do?
  • Quality review & mapping. Validate calculation logic and data sources against regulatory source text — CRR, CRD, and EBA guidelines — identify gaps, and document findings as validated methodology, SOPs, and concrete improvement requirements.
  • Requirement-setting. Translate regulatory logic into data and system specifications for Lunar's product and tech teams, and engage Treasury and Accounting on data flows and reporting logic.
  • Process improvement. Build reporting workflows that go beyond spreadsheet-based solutions — structured, reproducible, and suited to the complexity of the task — reducing manual dependency and making how we run submissions as reliable as the submissions themselves.
  • Regulatory horizon. Stay ahead of what's changing — assess the reporting implications of new Lunar products before they launch, and interpret incoming regulatory frameworks early enough to make adjustments before they become urgencies.
  • Regulatory ownership. Contribute to the team's regulatory reporting perimeter — COREP, MFI statistical reporting to Danmarks Nationalbank, KRGS, and DFSA reports — as part of the team's shared, cross-covered ownership model.
What are we looking for in you?
  • You've built regulatory reporting or risk-calculation infrastructure from scratch — ideally at a company early in its own regulatory journey, without mature tooling already in place — translating Basel and EBA methodology directly into calculation rules, product configuration, and functional requirements that a system runs on, not just documentation that describes it.
  • Direct experience with the EBA taxonomy and DPM, and with regulatory reporting or risk-calculation platforms such as OneSumX, Regnology, or Adenza — ideally having helped configure or build within one of these, not just operate it.
  • The habit of going to the source — you read CRR, CRD, and EBA guidelines directly, validate methodology against regulatory text, and can defend a calculation.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills, with data literacy that goes beyond standard spreadsheet tools — you think in structured, reproducible processes, produce clear methodology, and can specify data requirements for technical teams; experience with SQL or similar is a meaningful plus.
  • Clear and confident communicator across levels — you can translate a regulatory argument for a non-regulatory audience, and engage credibly with data engineers, product managers, and senior stakeholders alike.
Bonus if you bring:
  • Exposure to Danish-specific reporting requirements — KRGS, MFI statistical reporting, or other DFSA submissions.

A year from now, you'll have taken a piece of our regulatory reporting and rebuilt it on governed, documented data logic — translating Basel/EBA requirements into the rules a system runs on, not just the templates that describe them — and helped CRR move from submitting reports to shaping what gets built.

What you get
  • 4 days working from the office. We're a team that builds together, thinks together, and moves together. Showing up is part of how we work.
  • State of the art equipment. The newest computer, monitor, mouse, and keyboard. We want you to do your best work without anything slowing you down.
  • Pension, health insurance, and enhanced parental leave. From your financial future to your family moments. We've got you covered.

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know.

Depending on the regulations in the country where you will be employed, we will ask to see or obtain information about your criminal record.
