Job summary

Lunar is seeking a Senior Finance Systems & Data Engineer in Copenhagen to own Lunar's financial data architecture, from core banking platforms to the data warehouse and into Business Central.

You will automate the month-end close, reconciling source systems with the general ledger, and serve as a system owner for finance tools while collaborating across finance, product and tech teams to raise data quality and enable AI-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in an architect, engineering or finance systems role or equivalent.
• Strong hands-on SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation and modelling.
• Experience with ERP/finance systems such as Business Central and data integration.

Responsibilities

• Own design of Lunar's financial data architecture from core banking to data warehouse.

As our new Senior Finance Systems & Data Engineer, you'll join the Controlling & Transformation team based in Copenhagen, working to turn messy finance data into infrastructure the whole company can trust.

To be upfront: the pipes are still being built. You won't inherit a polished warehouse - you'll be the person who helps shape what it will look like. This is a role for someone who wants ownership of a foundation, not a seat next to one.

What will you do?

• Own the design of Lunar's financial data architecture, the flows from our core banking platforms through the ledger and data warehouse into Business Central, and set the direction for how it evolves
• Lead the automation of the month-end close, replacing manual steps cycle by cycle until it's fast, reliable and boring, starting with the reconciliations between source systems and the general ledger
• Get hands on when data issues appear. You'll query the data yourself, reconcile it, find the root cause and drive it to resolution rather than passing it on
• Be the system owner for Business Central and other relevant finance systems, covering configuration, access, releases and incidents, and hold tech and external vendors to designs that work for finance from the start
• Act as the bridge between finance, product and tech: set the standard for data quality across finance source systems, translate finance's needs into requirements the data squads can build against, and rethink core processes with AI

What are we looking for in you?

• 8+ years in an architect, engineering or finance systems role, with a track record of owning work end to end rather than picking up tickets
• Strong hands-on SQL and Python for extracting, transforming and modelling data, and comfortable integrating systems through APIs & MCP's
• You've worked close to a month-end close and know why cut-off, reconciliations and audit trail matter
• Confident with senior stakeholders and technical peers alike. You can push back, read a data model, see what it will break in finance and not be afraid to speak up.
• Experience owning or administering a finance system such as an ERP, and building with LLMs or agent tooling such as MCP, or a clear appetite to learn. Core banking & Business Central experience is a strong plus
