Job summary

Ørsted in Esbjerg is seeking a QHSE Advisor to provide expert guidance for Horns Rev 2 and other offshore wind sites. You will work with site leadership, technicians, and contractors to ensure safe, compliant operations and promote a proactive safety culture across Europe.

You will support risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement, reporting to the Head of QHSE Generation CE. This role is based in Esbjerg with travel across Denmark and Europe.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a QHSE advisory role within offshore wind, renewable energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, or another safety-critical environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills and the ability to influence at different organisational levels.
• Ability to work independently with sound judgement balancing operational, compliance, and business priorities.
• Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
• Fluent Danish and professional English to collaborate across international teams.
• Hold a relevant health and safety qualification; NEBOSH or environmental/auditor qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Providing independent QHSE advice and support to site management, technicians, contractors, and operational teams, onshore and offshore.
• Reviewing and maintaining risk assessments, procedures, work instructions, and site-specific processes for compliance with legal and Ørsted requirements.
• Conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analyses with follow-up actions.
• Supporting emergency exercises, toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and behavioural safety initiatives to strengthen safety culture.
• Acting as a key QHSE interface between sites, leadership, technical functions, and the wider QHSE organisation.
• Collaborating with colleagues across Europe to share learnings and drive continuous improvement across offshore generation operations.

You'll work closely with site leadership, technicians, contractors, and colleagues across Europe, providing practical guidance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting a culture where safety is at the heart of everything we do.

Welcome to QHSE Generation CE
You'll be part of the QHSE Generation CE team, a highly collaborative network of QHSE professionals supporting operational offshore wind sites across Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland. In this role, you'll act as the dedicated QHSE Advisor for Horns Rev 2, working closely with the site's leadership team, technicians, and contractors to support safe and compliant operations. At the same time, you'll be part of a wider community of experienced QHSE advisors who share knowledge, drive best practices, and continuously improve operational safety across our QHSE Generation CE portfolio. The role is based in Esbjerg and reports to the Head of QHSE Generation CE QHSE

You’ll play an important role in:

• providing independent QHSE advice and support to site management, technicians, contractors, and operational teams, both onshore and offshore
• reviewing and maintaining risk assessments, procedures, work instructions, and site-specific processes to ensure compliance with legal and Ørsted requirements
• conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analyses while driving effective follow-up on actions and improvements
• supporting emergency exercises, toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and behavioural safety initiatives that strengthen a positive safety culture
• acting as a key QHSE interface between operational sites, leadership teams, technical functions, and the wider QHSE organisation
• collaborating with colleagues across Europe to share learnings, develop best practices, and support continuous improvement across offshore generation operations

To succeed in the role, you:

• have significant experience in a QHSE, HSE, or occupational health and safety advisory role within offshore wind, renewable energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, or another safety-critical environment
• bring strong stakeholder management and communication skills and can influence, challenge, and guide stakeholders at different organisational levels
• work independently, apply sound judgement, and are comfortable balancing operational, compliance, and business priorities in a dynamic environment
• have experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, and continuous improvement activities
• speak and write Danish fluently and have professional English language skills that enable you to collaborate effectively across international teams
• hold a relevant health and safety qualification. Qualifications such as NEBOSH, auditor certifications, or environmental qualifications will be considered an advantage.
