Job summary

We are strengthening our focus on Technology Innovation in R&D Processing, and you will play a key role in leading cross‑functional projects that develop and implement the future automated high‑precision manufacturing equipment used for decoration, coating, and pre‑assembly of moulded plastic components to bring the LEGO® elements to life.

As Senior Project Manager in R&D Processing, you'll lead complex processing equipment development projects from early concept and business case development through implementation and operational handover.

Working closely with cross‑functional teams, specialists, and key stakeholders, you will be responsible for delivering innovative, scalable, and reliable manufacturing solutions that create value for our business and internal customers.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead equipment platform development projects through our Project Execution Model and established business processes.
  • Shape project scope by building end-to-end understanding of internal customer needs and manufacturing requirements.
  • Partner with specialists, suppliers and colleagues to deliver scalable manufacturing solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Ensure effective execution of the projects by defining clear roles and responsibilities and set up a solid project governance.
  • Secure strong anchoring during the handover of projects in line organization with a high level of standards.
  • Conduct after‑action reviews and continuously implement the best project management practices and tools in the way we work and use agile principles where relevant.
Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading complex engineering projects in big international companies across multiple disciplines combined with a relevant educational background. In addition, we expect that you have:

  • Experience leading complex engineering or manufacturing equipment development projects in big international organisations across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and influencing skills with the ability to develop and manage supplier and partner relationships.
  • Proven competencies in leading, mentoring, and empowering project team members.
  • Experience in developing processes, tools, and standard methodologies for project management and execution.
  • Support for the LEGO Group’s values by being curious to investigate alternatives, focused on delivering as agreed, and brave to take decisions and act.
  • Proficiency in English.
Nice to Have:
  • Knowledge of process engineering methods such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)/ Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and technical documentation.
  • Experience with industrialisation, digitalisation e.g. Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Familiarity with agile project approaches, like Scrum or similar frameworks.
Additional details on this position

This role is based in Billund, Denmark. Occasional travel to manufacturing sites will be required to support implementation activities, equipment validation and successful transition into operations.
