Job summary

Brightsmith is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead data centre and mission-critical construction initiatives across the Nordic region. You will coordinate development, design and construction teams to deliver projects on time, within budget and to high-quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership across electrical, mechanical and civil workstreams, with a focus on risk management and stakeholder engagement with utilities and authorities.

Project Manager Nordics | Full-Time | Data Centres

If you're an experienced Project Manager with a background delivering complex data centre or mission-critical construction projects, this could be an exciting opportunity to take ownership of major developments across the Nordics.

We're partnering with a growing data centre business developing large-scale digital infrastructure across the Nordic market. With a strong pipeline of projects, they're looking to strengthen their delivery team with an experienced Project Manager who can manage projects across development, design and construction.

This is a hands-on delivery role, coordinating internal teams, consultants, contractors, utilities and other key stakeholders to take complex data centre projects from early-stage development through construction, commissioning and handover.

What you'll be doing

• Manage the development and construction of data centre projects across the Nordics.
• Take ownership of projects from early-stage development and design coordination through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Manage project programme, budget, scope, quality and key delivery milestones.
• Coordinate architects, engineering consultants, general contractors, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
• Oversee design development across electrical, mechanical, civil and structural workstreams.
• Manage contractor performance and ensure construction activities remain aligned with programme and technical requirements.
• Lead regular project and site meetings, tracking progress, risks, actions and key dependencies.
• Support procurement, tendering, contractor selection and commercial negotiations.
• Work closely with electrical and grid teams around power availability, utility connections and energisation milestones.
• Identify programme, technical and construction risks and implement mitigation and recovery plans.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, practical completion and successful project handover.
• Maintain strong relationships with local authorities, utilities, contractors and wider project stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• 5–10+ years' experience within project management, construction management or development of complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience delivering data centre or mission-critical construction projects.
• Proven experience managing projects through multiple stages, ideally from development/design through construction and handover.
• Strong understanding of data centre construction and MEP infrastructure, particularly electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience managing general contractors, consultants, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.Strong understanding of project programmes, budgets, procurement, risk and change management.
• Experience coordinating commissioning and handover of technically complex facilities.
• Experience delivering projects within Finland, Denmark or the wider Nordic market would be highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with local utilities, permitting, grid connections and Nordic construction environments would be valuable.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Professional English; relevant Nordic language skills would be advantageous.
