Job summary

Novo Nordisk, a leading global healthcare company, seeks a PKPD Senior Principal Scientist to shape translational modelling strategies across drug discovery and development. You will guide mechanistic PKPD work, connect preclinical data to human outcomes and influence cross-functional teams through early research to regulatory submission.

Qualifications

• PhD in pharmaceutical, medical, physical, mathematical or engineering sciences with substantial industry experience.
• Ideally 10+ years of relevant pharma/biotech experience.
• Strong knowledge of PKPD, quantitative systems pharmacology and/or PBPK modelling.
• Experience developing mechanistic and empirical models to represent biological processes.
• Experience with modelling software such as Phoenix WinNonlin/NLME, NONMEM and with analytical tools (R, Python, MATLAB).

Responsibilities

• Set the direction for translational PKPD screening and mechanistic modelling across multiple formats and stakeholders.
• Design preclinical PKPD studies, interpret results and communicate conclusions to support project decisions.
• Build mathematical models and run simulations of human PKPD using in-house data and literature.
• Guide project teams on preclinical study design, dose setting for toxicity, first-in-human dose and trial design.
• Contribute to regulatory interactions and documents (INDs, IMPDs, NDAs).
• Advance mechanistic PKPD capabilities and mentor fellow scientists.
