From trial design and first-in-human dose setting to regulatory submissions, your scientific insight will shape how new drugs move through development. Your work helps turn science into treatments that create progress for people living with serious chronic diseases.

What you’ll bring

To thrive and succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A Master’s degree in Life Sciences, supported by a PhD or equivalent scientific expertise.
  • Expert knowledge of clinical pharmacology gained within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • A strong scientific and strategic mindset, combined with a solid understanding of clinical dosing, including first-in-human dose setting and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) relationships.
  • A proven track record of planning and conducting clinical trials, as well as working in cross-functional, global and dynamic environments.
  • Experience in interactions with Health Authorities.
  • A strong understanding of the business and the wider value chain.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate as a trustworthy team player, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and manage priorities and deadlines with a strong focus on quality.
  • The independence, initiative and drive to succeed in a fast-paced, high-performing environment, combined with an innovative, patient-centric and strategic approach.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
What you’ll do

You will be accountable for the clinical pharmacology strategy of your projects and bring clinical pharmacology expertise to every stage of development, from early trials to submission.

  • Lead clinical pharmacology programmes and provide the clinical pharmacology strategy for early and late-stage development projects.
  • Provide clinical pharmacology expertise to development project teams, including clinical pharmacology trial design and the interpretation and communication of trial results.
  • Drive and coordinate activities within headquarters-based study groups, collaborating with affiliates and external partners across the value chain.
  • Lead scientific communication and engage with a wide range of internal and external global stakeholders, including key opinion leaders.
  • Prepare clinical pharmacology summaries for submission dossiers and interact with Health Authorities, providing input that supports regulatory approvals for new drugs.
  • Strengthen Clinical Pharmacology capabilities through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Who you’ll work with

In Research & Development, colleagues explore scientific ideas and advance them towards clinical testing. You will join the Clinical Pharmacology organisation, made up of five Clinical Pharmacology departments and an integrated part of Medical and Translational Sciences.

The organisation is responsible for the clinical pharmacology strategy and the scientific input to clinical pharmacology trials, and provides expertise to all clinical development phases, Health Authority interactions and regulatory submissions worldwide.

Your closest partners will be development project teams and headquarters-based study groups. You will also work with affiliates, external partners across the value chain, key opinion leaders and Health Authorities – bringing perspectives together so decisions are clear and projects keep their momentum.

What you can expect here

You will join dedicated and highly engaged colleagues in a flexible, collaborative and cross-functional setting. Your expertise will be trusted, and your voice will count in shaping the clinical pharmacology strategy of the projects you lead.

Additionally, you will help others grow, sharing your knowledge and mentoring colleagues to build Clinical Pharmacology capabilities. In return, you will broaden your own perspective through close work across the development value chain and with global stakeholders.
