Job summary

Semco Maritime is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer in Esbjerg to own automation solutions for energy facilities, marine installations and offshore platforms. You will lead design, software development and commissioning, collaborating with project teams to deliver reliable control systems.

You will work with Danfoss VLT/VACON drives, BMS/PMS and hybrid energy concepts, while mentoring colleagues and contributing to internal standards.

Qualifications

At least five years of experience with PLC programming in Siemens TIA Portal (preferably SCL).
Experience developing automation solutions for energy, marine or offshore applications.
Strong understanding of automation architecture and industrial networks/protocols (Profinet, Modbus TCP, CAN/J1939).
Knowledge of energy systems such as ESS or shore power.
Experience with variable-frequency drives and motor control; Danfoss VLT/VACON is a plus.

Responsibilities

Taking technical ownership of automation solutions and defining system architecture, interfaces and software structures.
Designing and developing PLC software and structured code for complex marine, offshore and energy systems.
Developing automation solutions for BMS, PMS and hybrid energy systems (ESS, shore power, generator control).
Integrating, configuring and commissioning drives and motor/pump control systems.
Performing network/system integration across automation, electrical and third-party systems.
Conducting FAT, SAT and commissioning onshore and offshore.
Troubleshooting live systems and resolving complex issues on critical installations.
Reviewing automation designs and documentation for quality and consistency.
Mentoring less experienced engineers and contributing to internal standards.
