  • Act as technical authority and subject matter expert for your area of expertise.
  • Lead technical evaluations and design reviews with shipyards, consultants, classification societies, and equipment makers.
  • Provide sound technical input and engineering recommendations to support decision‑making
  • Contribute to both long‑term strategic initiatives and fast‑paced technical projects

What We’re Looking For

We expect our next team member to bring:

  • A degree in Naval Architecture and minimum 5 years of relevant experience in ship design, maritime research, or a closely related field
  • Exposure to vessel design, including areas such as statutory compliance, structural design, or stability
  • A solid technical foundation, with experience contributing to engineering projects from concept through execution
  • Experience with ship newbuilding or major conversion projects either from ship owner, designer or classification society angle, including activities such as developments of technical specifications or plan approval.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset and interest in working within a global, cross‑functional organisation
  • The ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English.

It’s an advantage if you also have:

  • Knowledge of container vessel’s lashing systems, outfitting, hull structure and/or accommodation design.
  • Practical experience in supporting, mentoring, or coordinating the work of other engineers
Why Join Maersk
