Job summary

EG Silkeborg Data in Aarhus is hiring a senior software developer to build and maintain Denmark's leading payroll system for the public sector. You will work on a mission-critical platform that ensures employees are paid accurately and on time, often involving mainframe, DB2 and Cobol.

You will develop new services, fix incidents, review code, reduce technical debt, and help optimise our processes. Fluency in English and collaboration with Denmark and Poland teams are essential; on-site presence

• Strong analytical skills and ability to grasp a complex domain.
• Excellent communication with business, support, and sales teams.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Team player with energy, good humor and a drive to succeed.
• Experience with DB2 and Cobol.

Responsibilities

• Develop new services, collaborating with fellow developers and beyond.
• Maintain a highly complex platform and resolve incidents as they arise.
• Ensure high quality through code reviews and testing.
• Spot and remove technical debt to renew the platform.
• Challenge how we work and help optimise processes and methods.
• Hands-on knowledge of and experience with DB2 and Cobol.
