Job summary

Hitachi Rail Denmark A/S is seeking a Contract Manager to join the Danish Legal & Contracts team. You will coordinate with internal departments across Europe to manage contracts, handle negotiations, and mitigate risks in large infrastructure projects.

The role requires strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, fluency in Danish and English, and a proactive, cross-functional mindset within an international organization.

Qualifications

• Danish Master of Laws (LL.M.) and/or MSc in Business Administration and Commercial Law, or similar relevant academic degree.
• Minimum 5 years of consolidated experience in complex contract management, commercial, legal and/or project management roles, preferably in infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Contractual negotiation and management of business relationships with customers and sub-contractors, including preparation and managing of contract notices, correspondence, contract changes and claims.
• Coordinate inputs from Project Manager, Scheduler, Procurement, Technical Leads and support functions to advance project delivery interests.
• Maintain contractual records and document key correspondence, status and issues.
• Provide guidance and contract clarification to project teams to minimize risk and maximize commercial opportunities.
• Draft formal project communications.
• Represent the company in internal and external meetings.
• Manage claims and variations including escalation and liaison with counsel.
• Identify and mitigate contractual and legal risks, especially for public tender procedures.
• Prepare legal memos and documents for internal processes and approvals.
• Support negotiations with customers and suppliers.
