Job summary

Hitachi Rail Denmark A/S invites a Signalling Engineer to join our engineering team supporting ETCS signalling system development and validation across Denmark. You will prepare technical docs, review data like route tables and speed profiles, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure compliant, high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Railway, or similar)
• 5–10+ years in railway signalling engineering; ETCS experience is a strong advantage
• Proficiency in technical documentation and engineering processes
• Experience with signalling design, engineering data, and railway infrastructure standards (CENELEC EN 50126/29/50716)
• MS Office (Excel, Word); CAD tools/Visio familiarity
• Strong analytical, structured, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal English communication

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings, and engineering data in compliance with Engineering Rules
• Engineer ETCS and interlocking data, including Route Tables and Speed profiles
• Conduct site and signalling surveys with validated input data
• Collaborate in cross-functional meetings and technical reviews
• Maintain Common Engineering Guidelines (CAE) and support Change Requests
• Support Architecture and requirements coordination across Hitachi subsidiaries
• Participate in meetings providing impact analysis and mitigation plans
• Identify and review technical risks and mitigation plans
• Analyse, resolve, and follow up on engineering defects and issues
• Support installation teams and documentation handover
