Job summary

The LEGO Group is seeking a Senior Element Designer to drive concept to production, balancing aesthetics, play value and manufacturability. You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver LEGO elements and play experiences.

You combine strong 3D design skills with manufacturing insight, turning concepts into compelling, high-quality designs for the LEGO System in Play. This role supports a hybrid working model and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent design education with proven design experience.
• Strong hardgoods design capabilities and understanding of form, proportion and aesthetics.
• Experience driving innovation and solving design problems through creativity and systems thinking.
• Proficient 3D design using NX, Rhino or similar software.
• Ability to translate 2D concepts into manufacturable 3D products.
• Strong sketching, visualization and storytelling abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across functions.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, incl. injection molding.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make design decisions in complex environments.
• Good analytic and systems-thinking skills.
• Experience documenting progress and planning own time.

Responsibilities

• Drive Element Design projects from concept exploration to final design for manufacturing.
• Create innovative injection molded elements that expand the LEGO System in Play.
• Lead development of functional solutions, mechanisms and new building experiences.
• Translate concepts and technical requirements into 3D products.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Model Design, Materials and Manufacturing.
• Balance aesthetics, functionality, play value and production constraints.
• Explore new opportunities, technologies and design approaches.
• Communicate design intent through sketches, digital models, prototypes and docs.
• Influence design quality and elevate creative standards across projects.
• Model collaboration and proactive problem-solving; mentor colleagues.
• Contribute to evolution of LEGO Design DNA.
