Job summary

LEGO System A/S in Billund, Denmark seeks a Senior Element Designer to drive concepts through to production, shaping LEGO elements that balance aesthetics, play value, and manufacturability.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Model Design and Materials to deliver high-quality, innovative mechanisms and building experiences. Strong 3D skills and a passion for design is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or equivalent, with proven track record leading design processes.
• Strong hardgoods design with exemplary form, proportion, scale, detailing and product aesthetics.
• Experience driving innovation and solving design problems through creativity and systems thinking.
• Proficient 3D design using NX, Rhino or similar software.
• Translate 2D concepts into manufacturable 3D products.
• Strong sketching, visualization and storytelling capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across functions.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes including injection molding.
• Navigate ambiguity and make sound design decisions in complex environments.
• Experience designing consumer products, toys, or mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive Element Design projects from concept exploration to final design for manufacturing.
• Create innovative injection molded elements that expand the LEGO System.
• Lead development of functional solutions, mechanisms and new building experiences.
• Translate concepts and technical requirements into 3D products.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Model Design, Materials and Manufacturing to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Balance aesthetics, functionality, play value and production requirements.
• Drive innovation by exploring new opportunities, technologies and materials.
• Create and communicate design intent through sketches, digital models and prototypes.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to capability building within the design community.
• Contribute to evolution of LEGO Design DNA.
