Job summary

3Shape A/S in Copenhagen seeks a Senior or Principal Data Platform Engineer to lead the transformation of our Databricks platform into an AI-ready foundation. You will shape architecture, governance, and platform ownership while collaborating with data teams, engineers, and business stakeholders.

You will drive standardization, scalability, and cost optimization, enabling data products and AI initiatives across the org.

Qualifications

• Several years designing, building, and operating modern cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and the listed technologies (Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake).
• Strong software engineering skills in Python and SQL, plus CI/CD and IaC tooling.
• Proven ability to define scalable architectures and operating models for data products.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management in a federated environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transformation of the Databricks platform into an AI-ready foundation.
• Define and evolve standards for data platform architecture, governance, and security.
• Guide data teams through architectural best practices and data product standards.
• Contribute hands-on to design, build, and deliver scalable data platform capabilities.
• Drive platform governance, cost optimization, and adoption of new AI technologies.
• Foster data literacy and cross-team collaboration to maximize business value.
