Job summary

Lunar, a Nordic challenger bank, is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join the Copenhagen-based Squad Matrix to build Lunar's self-service analytical data platform, Hubble.

You will work on real-time data ingestion pipelines and own end-to-end data platform projects, collaborating with engineers, designers, and product teams to deliver impactful analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in data engineering with platform ownership.
• Experience with stream data processing using Flink, Spark, or similar.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar).
• Programming in Go/Python/Scala with solid SQL.

Responsibilities

• Build product-grade Flink streaming ingestion pipelines and real-time data movement using cutting-edge technologies.
• Own end-to-end projects that add new capabilities or fix issues across the data stack, from ingestion to warehouse.
• Ensure consistent, reliable daily operations of the data warehouse which other teams rely on.
• Provision cloud infrastructure with Terraform and run services in Kubernetes to keep the platform deployable.
• Support stakeholders across the business with data requests and scale impact with agentic workflows.

As our new Senior Data Platform Engineer you'll join the Squad Matrix team based in Copenhagen, reporting to Jesper, working to build Lunar's self-service analytical data platform, Hubble.

What will you do?

• Build product-grade Flink streaming ingestion pipelines, working with cutting-edge streamhouse technologies (Paimon, Iceberg, Fluss, StarRocks) to move data in real time.
• Own end-to-end projects that add new capabilities or fix issues across our data stack, from ingestion through to the warehouse.
• Ensure consistent, reliable daily operations of our data warehouse — the foundation other teams build on every day.
• Provision cloud infrastructure with Terraform and run services in Kubernetes, keeping the platform deployable and dependable.
• Support stakeholders across the business with data requests, and use agentic workflows to scale your impact.

What are we looking for in you?

• Senior-level experience in data engineering, with a track record of owning platform-level systems, not just pipelines.
• Experience with stream data processing using Flink, Spark, or similar.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar), and comfort making architectural trade-offs.
• Programming experience in one or more of Golang, Scala, or Python, plus solid SQL.
• Ability to work closely with non-engineering stakeholders, translating platform capabilities into something analysts can actually use.
