Job summary

Lunar Denmark in Copenhagen is hiring a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help build Lunar's self-service analytical data platform, Hubble, alongside a cross-functional squad.

You will own end-to-end data capabilities, from real-time ingestion with Flink to a robust data warehouse, partnering with analysts and stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in data engineering with platform ownership.
• Experience with stream data processing using Flink or Spark.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and architectural trade-offs.
• Programming in Golang, Scala or Python with strong SQL.
• Ability to translate platform capabilities into usable tools for analysts.

Responsibilities

• Build product-grade Flink streaming ingestion pipelines with modern stack.
• Own end-to-end projects from ingestion to data warehouse.
• Ensure reliable daily operations of our data warehouse foundation.
• Provision cloud infrastructure with Terraform and run services in Kubernetes.

As our new Senior Data Platform Engineer you'll join the Squad Matrix team based in Copenhagen, reporting to Jesper, working to build Lunar's self-service analytical data platform, Hubble.

What will you do?

• Build product-grade Flink streaming ingestion pipelines, working with cutting-edge streamhouse technologies (Paimon, Iceberg, Fluss, StarRocks) to move data in real time.
• Own end-to-end projects that add new capabilities or fix issues across our data stack, from ingestion through to the warehouse.
• Ensure consistent, reliable daily operations of our data warehouse — the foundation other teams build on every day.
• Provision cloud infrastructure with Terraform and run services in Kubernetes, keeping the platform deployable and dependable.
• Support stakeholders across the business with data requests, and use agentic workflows to scale your impact.

What are we looking for in you?

• Senior-level experience in data engineering, with a track record of owning platform-level systems, not just pipelines.
• Experience with stream data processing using Flink, Spark, or similar.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar), and comfort making architectural trade-offs.
• Programming experience in one or more of Golang, Scala, or Python, plus solid SQL.
• Ability to work closely with non-engineering stakeholders, translating platform capabilities into something analysts can actually use.
