Job summary

Molgas Norway AS is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our Bergen or Karmøy offices as the technical authority for DCS, SCADA, PLC, and HMI across sites. You will drive standardization, lifecycle management, and governance of our automation portfolio.

You will partner with Operations, Engineering, IT providers, project teams, and major vendors to ensure reliable, secure operation and support our digitalization strategy with upgrades and cybersecurity initiatives.

Qualifications

Requires a BSc/MSc in Automation, Cybernetics, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience with industrial control systems.
Experience with multiple DCS/SCADA platforms (ABB, Emerson, AVEVA, Ignition).
Strong OT networking and industrial cybersecurity knowledge.
Fluent in English and Norwegian (Nordic language advantageous).
Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

Act as technical owner for all control and automation systems across Molgas Norway.
Manage lifecycle of DCS, SCADA, PLC, HMI, and software platforms.
Ensure standardization across sites and vendors.
Develop roadmaps for upgrades and modernization.
Lead cybersecurity integration and IT/OT alignment.
Collaborate with vendors like ABB, Emerson, AVEVA, and others.
Support FAT/SAT, testing, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Manage licenses, version control, and patching strategy.
Interface between OT and outsourced IT services.
Drive governance and strategic development of portfolio.
