Job summary

Hyve Solutions is seeking a Compliance Specialist to manage product and supplier data, ensure regulatory compliance across global standards, and prepare material declarations. You will collaborate with suppliers to gather accurate data and support audits, maintaining traceability and aligning with evolving environmental regulations.

You will engage with (sub-)suppliers, verify data, and report on chemical content and declarations, contributing to sustainability goals and customer transparency

Qualifications

• have a minimum of 5 years experience in chemical and product compliance.
• have a background in Chemical Engineering or material science.
• Proven track record in ensuring product compliance with regulatory or company-specific requirements on chemical substances.
• Experience with electronic product composition and/or experience in electronics supply chains highly desired, including reporting of Full Material Declarations.
• Experience in engaging directly with (sub-)suppliers to obtain and improve data, and experience managing the collection of proof on material content from suppliers.
• Adept at collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting data, including through digital product or supply chain management systems
• Independent self-starter who takes ownership, and collaborates across several teams and is motivated to contribute to advancing Fairphone’s chemicals and sustainability agendas

Responsibilities

• Manage product & supplier data
• Ensure that our suppliers provide accurate and timely information on the product composition, the materials used in our products, and other relevant information from (sub-)suppliers.
• Prepare documentation for product-level or component-level composition declarations.
• Ensure that customer-facing communications and documentation reflect a clear understanding of regulatory expectations and company policy on sustainability and responsible sourcing.
• Maintain internal databases and audit trails of material compliance responses to support traceability, accountability, and future audits.
• Ensure compliance with global environmental and substance regulations such as REACH, RoHS, TSCA, Prop 65, and SCIP, while monitoring evolving legislation and industry standards.
• Partner with suppliers to ensure accurate material declarations, conduct audits, and provide training to improve awareness of regulatory requirements.
• Prepare compliance reports and declarations (e.g., SCIP submissions, Declaration of Conformity) for regulatory bodies, customers, and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to non-compliance, proposing proactive solutions to address gaps and ensure adherence to regulations.
• Stay updated on emerging regulations and recommend improvements to processes to align with industry best practices and legislative changes.
