Job summary

Health DataCore in Copenhagen is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to anchor our hospital data platform. You will translate architecture into auditable software, own core backend services, and mentor juniors in a lean team working with a Solution Architect and Product Manager.

The role emphasizes building auditable healthcare systems, HL7/FHIR integrations, containers on Azure, and regulatory compliance. English is the working language; Danish is a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong API design, data modelling, integrations, testing, security.
• Experience building auditable healthcare systems with audit trails and access control.
• Familiar with GDPR in health data contexts.
• Knowledge of HL7 FHIR and health data standards.
• Experience running services in containers on Azure.

Responsibilities

• Lead core backend services including APIs and business logic.
• Build and maintain core platform parts.
• Document implementation decisions for auditability.
• Own code quality with reviews, testing strategy, and standards.
• Design for traceability, audit logging, access control, data integrity.
• Package and deploy platform with containers, CI/CD, IaC.
• Build two-way integrations with hospital systems via HL7/FHIR.
• Contribute to regulatory and medical device documentation.
• Collaborate with Solution Architect to refine architecture.
• Mentor junior developers as the team grows.
