Job summary

Nordea is hiring a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to own and evolve our AWS Landing Zone. You will build new features, maintain the platform, and enable application teams with reusable solutions.

The role emphasizes security, compliance, and operational reliability in a banking environment, with a hybrid work model and opportunities across Nordic regions. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in cloud engineering with enterprise AWS, Terraform/Ansible expertise, and strong networking knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on cloud engineering with current AWS experience at enterprise scale.
• Experience designing and running an AWS Landing Zone (Control Tower or equivalent).
• Strong Terraform for infrastructure as code and Ansible for automation.
• Programming ability in Python and Bash.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and platform automation.
• Good AWS networking knowledge (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect) and zero-trust access concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AWS Landing Zone features; build new capabilities.
• Create reusable Landing Zone solutions to simplify adoption by application teams.
• Design and run CI/CD pipelines; implement automated testing for platform components.
• Contribute to architecture docs and governance for security standards.
• Maintain day-to-day engineering: reviews, PRs, and documentation.
• Enhance automation to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency.
• Design network foundations for multi-account environments (VPCs, Subnets).
• Manage hybrid connectivity between AWS and on-prem data centers (Direct Connect, VPN).
• Apply zero-trust principles to access, IAM, and network segmentation.
• Lead incident response for P1/P2 events and perform root-cause analysis.
