Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Denmark seeks a Principal ADME Scientist to lead ADME- and DDI strategies from late-stage discovery through clinical development and regulatory submission. You will interpret complex data, guide decisions, and interact with stakeholders across modalities.

You will shape scientific priorities, champion innovation, and contribute to advancing programmes while mentoring junior scientists in a collaborative environment within Development ADME.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. is preferred or Master’s degree within pharmaceutical or medical sciences or equivalent area.
• Several years of relevant experience within ADME and ideally DDI in drug development in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
• Flair for and solid experience with bioanalytical and/or mass spectrometric approaches for characterisation and quantification of drug candidates and metabolites.
• Solid experience with ADME and DDI study conduct.
• Demonstrated knowledge of interpretation and translation of results from in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo ADME, and DDI studies.
• Outstanding ability to identify challenges, develop strategies, and translate them into relevant study designs.
• Experience with due diligence evaluation within ADME and DDI is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of scientific and strategic principles of drug development.
• As a person, you are open-minded, keen to learn new skills and able to communicate with experts in other areas. You have exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to effectively interact with colleagues with a variety of backgrounds. Furthermore, you have demonstrated experience and a keen interest in mentoring and sharing knowledge with junior scientists and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and interpret in vitro and in vivo ADME and DDI studies across modalities.
• Inform and guide projects on ADME- and DDI-related topics.
• Interact with regulatory authorities, contributing to regulatory documents (e.g. IB, IND, IMPD, BLA, NDA).
• Champion innovation and new scientific initiatives for development programs by reviewing literature and advancements.
• Interpret and translate results to support sound project decisions.
• Identify, analyse, and resolve complex scientific and strategic challenges with broad impact.
• Communicate complex data and recommendations clearly to stakeholders with diverse backgrounds.
• Mentor and share knowledge with junior scientists and colleagues.
