Job summary

Meet Life Sciences is seeking a Senior Associate Accountant to join the Copenhagen finance team. The role focuses on share-based compensation accounting, IFRS 2 support, and maintaining robust SOX controls within a high-growth biotech environment.

You will partner with HR, Legal, Investor Relations, FP&A, and Finance teams to deliver accurate financial reporting and drive process improvements in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in accounting, financial reporting, or related finance roles.
  • Solid understanding of SOX internal controls and financial governance.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems, SAP S/4HANA highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and supporting accounting activities related to share-based compensation.
  • Supporting IFRS 2 accounting processes (experience preferred, but not essential).

Senior Associate Accountant – Share-Based Compensation

Contract Type: Full-time Contract (with potential permanent conversion)

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a global Pharma Company to identify a Senior Associate Accountant to join their Finance team in Copenhagen. This is an exciting opportunity to support a high-growth, innovative organisation within the biotechnology sector.

The role will initially be offered as a full-time contract through April 2027, with the potential opportunity to transition into a permanent position. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting share-based compensation accounting, financial controls, and business partnering across multiple senior stakeholder groups.

The Role

Reporting directly to the hiring manager, you will become a key member of the accounting team, supporting a range of responsibilities including:

  • Managing and supporting accounting activities related to share-based compensation
  • Supporting IFRS 2 accounting processes (experience preferred, but not essential)
  • Maintaining strong SOX internal controls and ensuring compliance with financial policies
  • Preparing and presenting financial information to senior stakeholders
  • Partnering closely with HR, Legal, Investor Relations, FP&A, and Finance teams
  • Supporting month-end and reporting activities
  • Identifying process improvements and leveraging systems, automation, and analytical tools

About You

You are an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, high-growth environment. You are comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders and taking ownership of complex accounting processes.

Required Experience
  • Strong background in accounting, financial reporting, or related finance roles
  • Solid understanding of SOX internal controls and financial governance
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA experience is highly desirable)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with IFRS 2 / share-based compensation accounting
  • Background within public accounting or Big Four audit
  • Experience within a listed company or complex global organisation
  • Knowledge of Python, Power BI, or other data/automation tools
  • Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environments
