Job summary

GCS Recruitment partners with a leading international payroll and HR solutions organisation to hire a Payroll Country Expert for Denmark. You will own end-to-end payroll delivery, ensure compliance with Danish legislation, and act as the country SME guiding clients and internal teams.

With 8–12 years in payroll, you will manage expatriate payroll, lead payroll implementation projects, and collaborate with SAP SuccessFactors EC, ECP, and PCC.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years payroll experience in outsourcing, managed services, or consulting.
• Expert knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors EC, ECP, and PCC.
• Experience managing expatriate and impatriate payroll, including split/shadow payroll.
• Deep understanding of Danish payroll legislation, taxation, and employment law.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll delivery for Denmark using SAP SuccessFactors EC, ECP, and PCC.
• Ensure compliance with Danish payroll legislation, tax regulations, and employment practices.
• Lead and coordinate payroll teams to deliver payroll accurately and on time, in line with service levels.
• Act as the primary point of contact for complex payroll-related client queries and escalations.
• Build strong relationships with clients, local authorities, tax agencies, and external stakeholders.
• Participate in service reviews and support ongoing client relationship management.
• Provide guidance on payroll processes, system configuration, integrations, and legislative requirements.
• Lead payroll implementation projects for new clients, including testing, UAT, parallel payroll runs, and go-live activities.
• Oversee testing and validation for payroll system updates and configuration changes.
• Maintain payroll process documentation, solution designs, and country-specific payroll standards.
• Support, mentor, and develop payroll specialists and administrators.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with product and technology teams to influence future payroll solutions and roadmap development.
• Deliver internal training and knowledge-sharing sessions to support capability growth across the organisation.

We are partnering with a leading international payroll and HR solutions organisation seeking a highly experienced Payroll Country Expert to take ownership of payroll operations and compliance for Denmark.

This is a strategic and hands-on role for a payroll professional with deep expertise in Danish payroll legislation, SAP SuccessFactors, and complex international payroll processes. You will act as the country subject matter expert, supporting clients, leading payroll teams, driving service excellence, and contributing to payroll transformation initiatives.

The Role

As the Payroll Country Expert, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery while serving as a trusted advisor to both clients and internal stakeholders. You will play a key role in shaping payroll processes, supporting system enhancements, and driving continuous improvement across services and operations.

About You

• 8-12 years of payroll experience, ideally within a payroll outsourcing, managed services, or consulting environment.
• Expert knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC), Employee Central Payroll (ECP), and Payroll Control Center (PCC).
• Strong experience managing expatriate and impatriate payroll, including split payroll and shadow payroll scenarios.
• Deep understanding of Danish payroll legislation, taxation, employment law, and payroll compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and resolve challenging payroll issues.
• Experience leading teams and coordinating payroll operations within a service-focused environment.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High levels of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Danish and English.
