Job summary

Partner company in Denmark is seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer to shape a scalable data backbone for a high-scale platform. You will architect data warehouses, build reliable pipelines, and ensure data quality for analytics and ML projects.

You will collaborate across data science, analytics, and software teams, work with cloud data technologies (ClickHouse, BigQuery, Redshift), and promote best practices for maintainable data systems in a fully remote, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and optimizing data warehouses in cloud environments (AWS or GCP).
• Strong hands-on data modeling and transformation skills with dbt.
• Excellent SQL and experience with modern columnar warehouses (ClickHouse, Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Experience with orchestration platforms such as Prefect or Airflow.
• Knowledge of scalable ELT pipelines, data quality, and warehouse performance optimization.
• Experience with version control, testing, and automation in software engineering practices.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices; Terraform is a plus.
• Scripting or automation in Bash, Python, or Go is a plus.
• Familiarity with BI/visualization tools (Apache Superset, Sigma, Tableau, Looker) is a plus.
• Strong collaboration and communication in a globally distributed, autonomous environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance data warehouse solutions for analytics and operations.
• Develop reliable data pipelines and ELT processes with strong data quality and consistency.
• Design and implement efficient data models and transformations using dbt and SQL.
• Optimize warehouse performance through query tuning, partitioning, indexing, and related techniques.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve warehouse infrastructure balancing performance, reliability, and cost.
• Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to turn raw data into actionable insights.
• Work with modern cloud-based data warehouses including ClickHouse and other columnar platforms.
• Integrate data warehouse capabilities with application and service infrastructure.
• Promote data engineering best practices, documentation, testing, and maintainability.
• Apply software engineering principles like version control, code reviews, testing, and automation to data infra.
• Support data-driven decision-making by providing clean, reliable information to teams.
• Collaborate across a globally distributed organization and contribute to engineering culture.
