Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks a Refrigeration Technician for travel assignments in Denmark and internationally. You will support large installations, mentor local technicians, and work with a global team from our Aarhus hub.

Between travel periods you’ll join the Technical Support group, delivering remote guidance to customers and colleagues. A dynamic, hands-on role with strong collaboration and safety focus.

Qualifications

What You’ll Do

As our new Refrigeration Technician, you will provide on-site support for large refrigeration installations, serving a diverse global customer base across various industries.

Prepare for an exciting journey with up to 160 travel days per year, both within Denmark and internationally. Your assignments can vary from a few days to several weeks, often combining multiple tasks during a single trip.

You’ll primarily travel independently, collaborating closely with local technicians whom you will mentor, while being backed by a robust team of engineers and professionals at our Aarhus headquarters.

Between travel assignments, you will be an integrated part of our Technical Support team, working remotely from your home. In this role, you will provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to customers, service technicians, and colleagues, helping to resolve complex refrigeration challenges across our global customer base. Your Responsibilities

• Supervise troubleshooting of refrigeration systems, heat pumps, and their control systems.
• Monitor and repair refrigeration and heating machines, ensuring optimal performance.
• Oversee the commissioning and start-up of plants.
• Act as a site supervisor for plant upgrades and retrofits.
• Support and advise internal and external customers on the optimal operation of their installations.
• Provide remote technical support to customers, service technicians, and colleagues as part of the Technical Support team between travel assignments.
• Prepare high-quality service reports, as documentation is a vital part of your role.

What We’re Looking For

• A technically relevant background, such as a Refrigeration Technician or Engineer with a D certification allowing you to handle unlimited refrigerant charges.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems.
• An analytical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Strong networking skills and the ability to build effective partnerships.
• A positive, responsible, and service-oriented mindset with a focus on communication, cooperation, safety, and quality.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, and solid IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• A valid driver’s license (Category B).
• A genuine interest in international travel of up to 160 days per year while remaining actively engaged with the support team when working remotely.

It’s a Plus If You Have

• Specialized education in refrigeration technology, energy optimization, or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with large refrigeration systems, including Reciprocating and screw compressors, and associated control systems.
• Additional language skills.
