Job description

DAMRC is a research and development centre for advanced manufacturing. We are internationally recognised for our work in metal processing, and our job is to turn new technology into something Danish manufacturers can use on the shop floor.

You will work both in our own R&D centre in Herning, where trials can be run without stopping a production line, and out at the companies themselves, where the solution has to survive daily use.

We are now expanding the engineering team with two R&D Engineers.

Your role

As an R&D Engineer you will work on national and international research and development projects from the first idea through to implementation, at a high international technical level. Specifically, you will:

  • Drive the development and maturation of new machining technologies in our R&D centre
  • Play a central role in process and production optimisation for industrial customers
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and industry partners
  • Contribute to technologies that support the green transition
  • Share what you find - with engineers, production managers and machine operators alike
Who we are looking for
  • A degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent
  • Real understanding of machining - the process itself, not just the theory around it
  • The ability to explain a technical result clearly to very different audiences, from design engineers to machine operators
  • Fluent English, written and spoken. Danish is not a requirement
Advantageous
  • Specialisation in materials engineering
  • Hands-on experience with material processing and machining techniques
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with trial design, measurement or data analysis
  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with current engineering tools and methods

Ambitious recent graduates are encouraged to apply. If you are early in your career we do not expect the experience - we expect curiosity and a willingness to get your hands dirty.

Eligibility.

You must already be entitled to work in Denmark. We are not set up to handle work and residence permit applications, so we can only consider applicants who are citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland, or who already hold a valid Danish work permit.

What we offer
  • A high-technology research centre in strong growth, where you are invited to contribute both professionally and personally
  • Direct contact with our members and customers, and time spent inside companies most engineers never see from the inside
  • An innovative, supportive environment alongside highly skilled colleagues who share your interest in engineering
  • Work with technologies that drive the green agenda forward
