TELUS Digital invites freelancers with a psychology background to help assess AI content safety and bias. You’ll review potentially risky content, analyze AI–human interactions, and report risks to improve responsible AI behavior.

This independent contractor role offers flexible remote engagement within a global community of contributors. A Bachelor’s in Psychology and native-language proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Native language proficiency in your primary language; understand cultural and emotional tone.
• English proficiency: Basic (B1) English to read project guides and safety rules.
• Empathy and logic: able to understand how people feel and spot risks.

About the Role: Do you have a background in Psychology? At TELUS Digital, we are looking for freelancers to help make the internet a safer place. You don't need to be a tech expert or a computer scientist. Your job is to use your understanding of human behavior and mental health to check if AI-generated content is safe, helpful, and responsible. You are the "Human Compass" that helps the AI understand people better.

What You’ll Do (Simple Tasks):

• Safety Reviews: Review content that has been flagged as potentially risky or harmful and decide if it follows safety rules.
• Behavior Analysis: Look at how an AI interacts with users and identify if it is showing any biased or unfair behavior.
• Risk Reporting: Identify "gray areas" where an AI might give bad advice and suggest better, safer ways for it to respond.
• Mental Health Awareness: Use your degree to ensure the AI recognizes sensitive topics and handles them with care.

Qualification path

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Native Language: Native-level proficiency in your primary language. You need to understand the cultural and emotional "vibe" of how people talk in your country.
• English Proficiency: Basic (B1) English so you can read our project guides and safety rules.
• Empathy & Logic: You are good at understanding how people feel and spotting risks that others might miss.

Assessment:

In order to be hired into our community, you’ll go through a subject-specific qualification exam that will determine your suitability for the position and complete ID verification.
