Job summary

DTU’s BRiGHT invites applications for a Professor in Biocatalysis and Structural Biology for Sustainable Biosolutions. You will lead research and teaching, drive translation, and foster collaboration across DTU and European partners to enable green biosynthesis.

Applicants should hold a PhD in biochemistry/bioengineering, have postdoctoral or group-leader experience, a strong international publication record, and a proven ability to lead teams, secure funding, and develop sustainable research

Qualifications

  • PhD in biochemistry, bioengineering or a similar field.
  • Postdoctoral or group leader experience; managing a research group in topics like natural products, computational biology, and enzyme engineering.
  • High-level original scientific production contributing to the field.
  • Strong productivity and research profiling.
  • Experience integrating sustainability assessment into molecular research.
  • Experience driving innovation processes in sustainability and biosolutions.
  • Initiative and impact with sponsors, recipients, and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide research leadership to strengthen and develop the field.
  • Manage day-to-day group operations with scientific guidance.
  • Develop the specific research area.
  • Drive tech transfer and spin-off activities.
  • Collaborate with international partners and industry.
  • Supervise PhD students and postdocs.
  • Teach at DTU at BEng to PhD levels.
  • Coordinate with other groups and core facilities.
  • Ensure sustainability-guided research direction.
