Job summary

Novo Nordisk is seeking a Primary Packaging Engineer in Lyngby, Denmark, to manage the lifecycle of oral packaging materials and drive improvements from development through to commercial production. The role emphasizes collaboration across R&D, QA, Production, Regulatory Affairs and external suppliers in a GMP setting.

The 12-month maternity cover requires a master’s degree and strong experience with primary packaging and regulatory documentation, with English fluency.

Qualifications

• Hold a master’s degree in engineering, materials science, pharmacy, or another relevant scientific discipline.
• Experience in a GMP-regulated environment with responsibilities related to system engineering, risk management, quality management, and technical documentation.
• Experience with development, implementation, or lifecycle management of primary packaging for pharmaceutical products.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Drive lifecycle management of primary packaging materials for oral pharmaceuticals (blister packs, tablet bottles, bulk containers).
• Lead investigations into deviations, customer complaints, and technical issues; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support compliance projects and maintain inspection-ready documentation.
• Evaluate suppliers, material changes, and new technologies; document activities in the QMS.
• Ensure technical performance, manufacturability, regulatory compliance, and patient safety of packaging components.
• Support implementation of new packaging materials from development to regulatory filing to manufacturing.
