Job summary

Aarhus University invites applications for a 2-year postdoc position in remote sensing of ecosystem resilience within the ECOINF/Biodiversity section. The work will analyze satellite time series to understand responses to droughts, floods and other climate-driven disturbances across natural, semi-natural, and agricultural landscapes.

The postdoc will develop indicators of resilience, apply Sentinel-2/Landsat/Sentinel-1 data, and contribute to Land-CRAFT projects in Denmark and globally,

Qualifications

PhD in ecology, Earth system science, geography, biology or similar.
Experience with geospatial and statistical analyses of remote sensing and ecological data.
Programming skills in R and/or Python.
Knowledge of land cover and land use change.
Experience with multispectral remote sensing and multi-scale tools.

Responsibilities

Analyze satellite time series to understand ecosystem responses to stressors and disturbances.
Develop satellite-based indicators of ecosystem resilience across land-use types.
Combine remote sensing techniques across scales for field- and landscape-level insights.
Collaborate with Land-CRAFT and ECOINF, and publish findings.
