Résumé du poste

DTU Sustain – Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering, Water Systems (WS) Section, invites applications for a Postdoc position focusing on hydrological extremes across scales, hazards and impacts to support climate-resilient water and infrastructure systems.

The role involves developing risk-based design methods, applying extreme value analysis and non-stationary statistics, and collaborating with Danish and international partners in a dynamic research environment.

Qualifications

  • PhD required in civil/environmental engineering, hydrology/earth sciences, data science/applied statistics or similar.
  • Experience with extreme value statistics and machine learning for spatial and temporal variability is advantageous.
  • Willingness to collaborate with national and international partners and stakeholders.

Responsabilités

  • Strengthen the department’s capabilities in hydrological extremes and data science across scales, hazards and impact categories.
  • Develop and harmonise methods for extreme value analysis and regionalisation, accounting for non-stationarity.
  • Engage with industry and government stakeholders to ensure relevance of outcomes.
  • Access and curate open data sets and publish standardized data on hydrological extremes with collaborators.
