Job summary

DTU Sustain – Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to optimize microbial protein production via gas fermentation. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and contribute to dissemination of results through publications and conferences.

The appointment is for 2 years starting 1 January 2027, full time, with supervision of teaching activities in the field of environmental biotechnology and biowaste valorization.

Qualifications

  • Experience with gas fermentation and handling microorganisms in lab/pilot scale.
  • Strong background in environmental biotechnology and life-cycle considerations.
  • Ability to communicate results effectively through publications and conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Laboratory work to optimize microbial protein production using gas fermentation and GM organisms.
  • Create a life cycle inventory for the fermentation process.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team across departments.
  • Disseminate research findings through publications and conference presentations.
  • Teach and supervise activities within environmental biotechnology and biowaste valorization.
