Job summary

The Translational Neuropsychiatry Unit at Aarhus University invites applications for a two-year, fixed-term Postdoc position in GPR6 neurobiology and translational neuroscience, starting 1 December 2026 or soon after. The role focuses on linking rodent behaviour with PET imaging and molecular analyses within depression models, reporting to the Associate Professor in charge.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team spanning preclinical imaging, behavioural neuroscience and molecular studies,

Qualifications

  • PhD in neuroscience, pharmacology, biomedical science or related field.
  • Experience in experimental neuroscience and rodent behaviour.
  • Strong interest in linking behaviour to brain imaging and molecular mechanisms.

Responsibilities

  • Independent research of high international quality, including publication.
  • Design, conduct, and analyse behavioural experiments in rodent models.
  • Contribute to preclinical PET studies, planning, data acquisition and analysis.
  • Perform molecular and tissue-based analyses (autoradiography, RNAscope, WB, IHC).
  • Maintain rigorous records, randomisation, blinding, and animal welfare.
  • Prepare manuscripts and presentations; participate in teaching activities.
