Job summary

DTU is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to lead experiments at the intersection of synthetic biology, metabolism, and active matter physics. The role combines wet-lab and computational work, with supervision by DTU and Niels Bohr Institute researchers.

The project explores how metabolic perturbations drive multicellular dynamics using cutting-edge tools. You will mentor students, collaborate across DTU Bioengineering and related institutes, and contribute to a growing,

Qualifications

  • PhD required or equivalent.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and genetic engineering.
  • Strong communication skills in English and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Implement optogenetic gene circuits and metabolic sensors.
  • Perform metabolic phenotyping and omics sample preparation.
  • Design 2D multicellular assays to study collective cell behaviors.
  • Conduct biophysical experiments to link metabolism to mechanosensing and organization.
  • Mentor PhD, MSc, and BSc students in the group.
