Job summary

Aarhus University in Denmark invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position in environmental genomics, microbiome ecology and pollinator health. The fellow will study how freshwater habitats influence pollinator microbiomes and physiology, collaborating with an international network of researchers.

The successful candidate will lead field studies, analyse environmental DNA and sequencing data, and contribute to high-impact publications while mentoring MSc/PhD students.

Qualifications

• PhD in ecology, environmental genomics or related field.
• Strong background in microbial ecology and insect pollinator biology.
• Proven experience with high-throughput sequencing data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate field studies across seasons.
• Lead analysis of environmental and insect samples for sequencing.
• Analyze microbial communities in freshwater and pollinators.
• Support analysis of metagenomic and metabarcoding datasets.
• Integrate ecological and molecular data to address research questions.
• Co-supervise MSc/PhD students and publish findings.
