Job summary

University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a 3½-years Postdoctoral research position in Environmental Toxicology focusing on histopathological and behavioural endpoints development in fish. The project is housed in the Ecotoxicology group, Department of Biology, SDU, and is funded by EU PARC, the Danish EPA, and SDU.

Qualifications include a PhD in Environmental Toxicology, strong regulatory toxicology knowledge, and hands-on Zebrafish experimentation.

Qualifications

• Must hold a PhD degree in Environmental Toxicology.
• Strong background in chemical risk and hazard assessment and regulatory toxicology including EU chemicals legislation (REACH) and OECD guidelines.
• Strong proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Experience in university teaching and supervision (lectures, examinations, MSc supervision).
• Hands-on experience in assessing endocrine disruption properties using the Zebrafish model.
• Knowledge of EU regulatory endocrine pathways (EATS modalities).
• Extensive experience with OECD fish test protocols (e.g., TG 236, TG 210).
• Histopathology techniques experience (tissue prep, microtome, cryosectioning, H&E, microscopy, image analysis).
• Experience in behavioral assessment in zebrafish eleutheroembryos (e.g., EthoVision XT).
