Job summary

DTU Management invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position in the Energy Markets and Finance section. The successful candidate will conduct research at the interface of dynamic optimization, energy economics and operations research to support planning and operation of future energy systems.

Working with European partners, you will develop advanced models and decision-support tools for robust and economically efficient decisions under uncertainty, with dissemination in high-impact

Qualifications

  • PhD in operations research, management science, applied economics (game theory or energy economics).
  • Strong background in mathematical optimization.
  • Experience with optimization under uncertainty or data-driven decision-support methods.
  • Programming experience in optimization software and scientific programming languages (Julia, Python, Matlab).
  • Excellent communication and dissemination skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research at the interface of dynamic optimization, energy economics and operations research.
  • Develop advanced models and decision-support tools for planning and operating future energy systems.
  • Apply methods to analyze the planning and operation of integrated energy systems, electricity markets, industrial flexibility, sector coupling, and low-carbon transition pathways.
  • Publish in leading international journals and contribute to reproducible research tools.
