Job summary

The University of Copenhagen & Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark, invites applications for a 3-year postdoctoral bioinformatician to bridge functional genomics and population genetics. You will join the Stender group at Rigshospitalet and collaborate with BRIC at the University of Copenhagen.

The role focuses on building analytic workflows for CRISPR screens and analyzing biobank data from over 2 million individuals, integrating multi-omics, spatial transcriptomics, and clinical data.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Human Genetics, Biostatistics, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience with high-throughput sequencing data analysis (CRISPR, bulk/single-cell/spatial).
  • Experience in human genetic epidemiology (GWAS, rare-variant burden, PheWAS).
  • Proficient in R and/or Python; HPC environments.
  • Strong publication record in computational biology or genetic epidemiology.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the bioinformatic pipeline for processing and statistical evaluation of high-throughput multi-modal CRISPR screens (KO, CRISPRi, CRISPRa).
  • Conduct large-scale human genetic analyses (GWAS, rare-variant burden, PheWAS) on biobank data (>2 million individuals).
  • Analyze spatial transcriptomics, single-cell, and multi-omics data from tissue cohorts.
  • Collaborate with wet-lab postdocs, PhD students, and international partners.
