Job summary

University of Copenhagen seeks a Research Assistant to join the Choudhary Group at CPR, a Novo Nordisk Foundation center. The role involves generating plasmids, CRISPR-edited cell lines, and preparing sequencing libraries. Applications close 29 August 2026; start date 15 October 2026.

37 hours/week, time-limited to 1 year, with a Danish collective bargaining salary. The position is based at the University of Copenhagen in central Copenhagen within the Department of Immunology and Microbiology.

Qualifications

• The selected candidate has a master’s degree in bioscience or an equivalent field.
• Proven experience in molecular biology or biochemistry lab work and techniques.
• Experience with cloning and generating CRISPR-engineered cell lines, and NGS library prep.
• Good English communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Cloning and generation of plasmid constructs for CRISPR-based genome editing.
• Culturing bacteria and mammalian cells.
• Generation of CRISPR-engineered mammalian cells.
• Sequencing of plasmids and genotyping of edited cell lines.
• Cataloguing and archiving of plasmids and engineered cell stocks.
• Generation of next-generation sequencing libraries.
• Documentation of experiments using an electronic lab notebook.
