Job summary

The Globe Institute, University of Copenhagen, invites three postdoctoral researchers to join the Center for Ancient Environmental Genomics (AEGIS) at Øster Voldgade in Copenhagen. The positions focus on functional ancient microbial ecology, including CAZymes, biosynthetic gene clusters, and protein language models for ancient metagenomics.

Qualifications

• PhD in bioinformatics, genomics, ecology, computational biology or a related field.
• Experience analyzing large-scale ancient metagenomic datasets.
• Experience with ancient or degraded DNA analysis and authentication.
• Experience implementing ML models for protein sequences.
• Excellent English skills, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop computational methods to study microbial functions in aeDNA data.
• Collaborate with AEGIS colleagues to evaluate functional predictions.
• Analyze datasets across time and space to infer past microbial ecology.
