Systematic A/S is seeking an IT Portfolio & Capacity Manager in Aarhus. This hands-on role connects delivery realities with leadership decisions, shaping the evolving portfolio and capacity capability.
You’ll work with project managers, delivery teams, architects and GRIT leadership to turn portfolio realities into clear priorities, capacity views, dependencies and delivery expectations. You will engage with CIO-aligned leadership and have a significant impact on prioritisation and capacity
Turn competing IT demands into priorities teams can deliver. In this hands-on role with Group IT Strategy at Systematic, you will connect delivery realities with leadership decisions. Working closely with teams and leadership, you will help shape our evolving portfolio and capacity capability, clarifying what we can commit to, what comes next and what must wait.
Group IT (GRIT) supports Systematic’s business units with infrastructure, systems, integrations, applications and governance. Our Plan-Build-Run model combines sprint-based development, stage-gate projects and Kanban operations to manage and improve services. As IT Portfolio & Capacity Manager, you will connect these delivery models into a trusted view of delivery, commitments and available capacity.
This is a hands-on role, reporting is a part of it, but not all of it. You will work with project managers, delivery teams, architects and leadership, and turn portfolio realities into clear priorities, capacity views, dependencies, risks and delivery expectations. You will move between portfolio decisions with the CIO and GRIT leadership and detailed reviews of project plans or Jira data with delivery teams, challenging commitments, dependencies and capacity assumptions. Your insight will help leadership decide what to prioritise, take on next or defer.
The portfolio and capacity management model you will work with is still evolving, and you will play an important role in shaping it. Our ambition is not to build a large administrative PMO. We want a lightweight and trusted portfolio capability that gives us transparency across demand and delivery, helps us make realistic commitments, and enables us to adjust priorities as our capacity and business needs change.
You will become part of the GRIT Strategy team, a small team working across strategy, Enterprise Architecture, portfolio and project management to keep Group IT focused on the right priorities and strengthen the connection between planning and execution. Reporting to the Director of Group IT Strategy, you will take over a running portfolio process from an interim consultant and work closely with project managers, Enterprise Architecture and GRIT leadership.
The team is based in Aarhus. If you are located in Copenhagen, we are open to discussing a hybrid arrangement, but you should expect regular presence in Aarhus, approximately 6-8 days per month.
You have worked close enough to technology delivery to understand the interaction between demand, projects, agile teams, dependencies, capacity and operational commitments. You understand that different teams may plan and deliver work differently, and you are able to create transparency across that complexity without trying to force everything into one delivery model. Your background could be in IT portfolio management, technology delivery, programme management, IT transformation or a PMO role closely integrated with IT delivery. The exact title matters less than your ability to understand delivery and turn fragmented information into a portfolio that can be actively managed. We expect you to have experience with several of the following:
When the portfolio picture is unclear, you do not simply wait for someone to produce another status report. You look into the underlying information, talk to the people involved, challenge assumptions and work out what is actually happening. You enjoy creating order from complexity and are comfortable moving between strategic discussions and delivery detail. You also have the confidence to challenge when things do not add up. If commitments exceed available capacity, dependencies have been overlooked or different sources tell different stories, you make that visible and help the organisation resolve it.
At the same time, you are pragmatic. You understand that perfect data rarely exists in a fast-moving IT organisation and know how to create sufficient transparency to enable decisions without turning portfolio management into bureaucracy. You thrive as a senior specialist who takes ownership of your domain and leads through sound judgement, structure, collaboration and follow-through.
Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security‑classified projects.
At our Aarhus office, you can look forward to joining our Employees Club, which offers nearly 100 events a year of both social and professional character. Here, you can take advantage of a range of on-site perks from physiotherapist-led massages and an in-house hairdresser to sports clubs, game tables and even our own padel court. Our canteen is a standout feature, serving a daily selection of delicious and healthy dishes. Beyond the office, you will also enjoy benefits like free ARoS +1 access and various shopping discounts.
