Job summary

DTU invites applications for a PhD position focused on data-centric micromanufacturing within the Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network MicroMan4Health. You will develop an open digital platform and scalable data lake, enabling AI-driven services for predictive maintenance and real-time analytics in healthcare-related micromanufacturing.

The project emphasizes collaboration across industry and academia, with a 3-year full-time appointment starting March 2027 or by mutual agreement.

Qualifications

  • Two-year master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • PhD track under MSCA rules and DTU enrolment requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, cyber-physical systems, or smart manufacturing.
  • Programming experience (Python or similar) and data engineering/data integration skills.
  • Experience with manufacturing data acquisition or sensors is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an open, digital platform for data-centric micromanufacturing transforming multimodal production data into actionable manufacturing intelligence.
  • Build a scalable data lake capable of integrating heterogeneous data from micromanufacturing processes.
  • Design plug-and-play AI microservices for predictive maintenance, process monitoring, and real-time analytics.
  • Validate the platform on open-architecture metal powder bed fusion systems and assess scalability and interoperability.
  • Disseminate research findings through publications and collaboration with industry and academia.
