Zusammenfassung

DTU Physics invites applications for a PhD scholarship focused on creating and controlling superlattices in graphene and other 2D materials, using advanced nanofabrication and characterization techniques.

You will work with DTU Nanolab and METRIQS partners to design geometries, assemble heterostructures, imprint patterns with electron beam lithography, and analyze data to guide iterations. The position is a 3-year, full-time PhD starting Jan 2027.

Qualifikationen

  • Two-year master's degree or equivalent is required.
  • Hands-on experience with micro- or nanofabrication or comparable lab work.
  • Experience with 2D materials, CAD layout, electron microscopy or electronic transport is an advantage.

Aufgaben

  • Design superlattice geometries and device layouts using modelling and simulation.
  • Assemble van der Waals heterostructures with controlled twist/stacking and document optimal parameters by datamining.
  • Imprint periodic patterns into 2D materials using electron beam lithography and related nanofabrication.
  • Fabricate devices to contact, gate, and measure the engineered materials.
  • Characterise structure and electronic properties with various microscopy and spectroscopy methods.
  • Relate measured electronic response to the superlattice design and iterate.
  • Establish reproducible fabrication and measurement protocols and publish results.
