Job summary

DTU in Denmark is offering a PhD studentship in microbial food scaling within the BRIGHT Mission 2 program. You will join Sustainable Food Innovation Group and Microbial Foods Group to study scaling strategies, engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration, and contribute to AI-driven design of microbial foods with sustainability, health and consumer acceptance in mind.

The position runs for 3 years full time with a start date around 01-01-2027 or by mutual agreement; enrolment in a DTU degree

Qualifications

  • Two-year Master’s degree in geography, science & technology studies, food systems, climate science, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Map scale/scaling in microbial food innovation and analyse resilience.
  • Identify challenges in research and innovation within food systems transitions.
  • Investigate the economic and practical viability of scaling microbial foods.
  • Explore how scalar multiplicity supports green transitions.
