Job summary

The Department of Clinical Medicine at Aalborg University invites applications for a full-time PhD stipend in Clinical Natural Language Processing, starting December 1, 2026 or soon after. The PhD is part of the Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience program and lasts three years.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field required.
• Strong programming skills in Python and NLP experience.
• Interest in AI, ML, NLP and health data science.
• Fluency in English; Danish language proficiency is a plus.
• Willingness to collaborate with health-domain experts.

Responsibilities

• Develop interactive LLM-based agent framework with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for EHRs, guidelines, and literature.
• Synthesize evidence and translate into actionable insights, including missed nursing care.
• Support nurses in planning and decision-making at the point of care.
• Ensure traceability and interpretability; explore HITL and VHT approaches.
